Pediatric Nurse Practitioner: Mandy M. Parfitt, MSN, CPNP-PC, ARNP

Pediatric nurser Practitioner Mandy M. ParfittMandy Parfitt, a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, known as “Miss Mandy” by the kids, relocated to Fort Myers, Florida the summer of 2010. She grew up just south of the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area. She has an identical twin sister, Megan who also shares her interest in the medical profession as a Physician Assistant.

She attended the University of Pittsburgh where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing while working for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center as a Nursing Assistant. She was also a member of the University of Pittsburgh Varsity Marching Band, Symphonic Band, and Pep Band for 4 years playing French Horn and Mellophone.

Mandy worked for the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and Cardiac Step Down Unit for over 4 years as a Registered Nurse. At the same time she pursued her Masters of Science in Nursing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner also at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. After graduating, she worked for 10 months at a private pediatric office in the Pittsburgh area before relocating to Florida.

Mandy is nationally board certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care, and holds a current active Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the state of Florida. She is also a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP), Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of NAPNAP, and the Florida Nurse Practitioners Network.

Her interest include going to the beach and spending time enjoying the outdoor activities of Southwest Florida. She also likes to stay active, enjoys cooking, and follows her favorite sports teams in Pittsburgh.
