At Mackoul Pediatrics, we offer gentle, professional, and effective pediatric and teen acne treatment and management. Our team understands how much acne can affect a child or teen’s confidence and self-esteem, especially during some of their first most challenging formative experiences, and we make it a priority to provide each patient and family with compassionate and caring treatment.

Track when breakouts occur or any breakout patterns, what triggers them, and what makes them worse (stress, diet, products, etc).
Avoid/tell your child to avoid picking or squeezing pimples to prevent scarring.
Try to use gentle, unscented skincare products if possible.

Most acne can be managed well with the right routine, but sometimes it needs more support. Contact us if:

Your child’s acne is painful, cystic, or leaving scars.
The breakouts are spreading across various areas of the body (face, chest, back), or worsening and not improving with gentle care.
Your child starts exhibiting significant embarrassment or anxiety about their acne, or if it starts affecting your child’s confidence and social life.
You see signs of infection such as pus, swelling, warmth, or increasing and/or persistent redness.
Over-the-counter products that you’ve tried haven’t helped after 6–8 weeks of consistent use.

Early treatment often prevents scarring and helps protect your child’s self-esteem during these important years.
